1\. About this policy

This Cookies and Similar Technologies Policy explains how Keynetic uses cookies and similar technologies when you use the Keynetic website and application.

We use these technologies primarily to provide essential functionality, maintain secure authentication and support specific workflows.

We do not currently use cookies or similar technologies for advertising, behavioural tracking or marketing analytics.

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.

2\. What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small files stored on your device by a website.

Similar technologies can include browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage and sessionStorage. These can allow a website to temporarily retain information within your browser to support a particular function or workflow.

Keynetic uses both cookies and limited browser storage for operational purposes.

3\. Cookies we use

Authentication cookies

Keynetic uses authentication cookies provided through our authentication infrastructure to maintain your signed-in session.

These cookies allow Keynetic to:

  • recognise an authenticated user;
  • maintain a secure session between pages and requests;
  • support authentication and account security; and
  • maintain your session when using the Keynetic application.

These are strictly necessary for the operation of the authenticated Keynetic service.

Keynetic does not use these cookies for advertising or behavioural tracking.

4\. Browser storage used for functionality

Keynetic may use browser storage to support specific workflows.

Invitation workflows

A temporary browser storage item may retain an invitation token associated with an invitation workflow.

This allows the application to maintain the relevant workflow between pages or steps.

It is cleared when the relevant workflow is completed or otherwise removed.

Legal acceptance

Keynetic may temporarily store information relating to pending acceptance of the applicable terms and privacy information while an authentication session is being established.

This allows the acceptance to be associated with the correct authenticated account.

The information is removed once the acceptance has been successfully recorded.

Estate-agent signup

During certain estate-agent signup and email-confirmation flows, Keynetic may temporarily store the contact information required to complete the signup.

This information is subject to a limited seven-day validity period and is cleared once the information has been successfully transferred to the Keynetic account.

5\. Analytics and marketing

Keynetic does not currently use Production cookies or similar technologies for:

  • advertising;
  • behavioural advertising;
  • cross-site tracking;
  • marketing pixels;
  • Google Analytics or equivalent analytics platforms; or
  • third-party advertising networks.

We therefore do not currently use a cookie or consent-management mechanism for those purposes.

If this changes, we will update this policy and implement any consent or other controls required by applicable law before introducing non-essential technologies where required.

6\. Third-party services

Keynetic uses a number of third-party services to operate the platform.

Some of these services operate entirely through server-to-server communication and therefore do not place cookies on your browser through the Keynetic application.

For example, address lookup, email delivery and certain infrastructure services are accessed by Keynetic's servers rather than through browser-based tracking technologies.

Where Keynetic redirects you to a third-party website or service, that provider may use its own cookies or similar technologies. Those technologies are governed by the relevant provider's policies.

7\. Managing cookies and browser storage

You can generally control or remove cookies and browser storage through your browser settings.

Please note that removing or blocking strictly necessary cookies or browser storage may prevent some parts of Keynetic from functioning correctly, including authentication and certain workflows.

Because Keynetic does not currently use non-essential analytics or advertising cookies, there are no such optional tracking cookies to switch off within the Keynetic application.

8\. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our use of cookies or similar technologies changes, or where necessary to reflect changes to our services or applicable requirements.

The latest version will be made available through the Keynetic website.
